"A Bit of Wisdom" is one of Carolyn Fox's recent mixed-media paintings that explore the natural world through crisp shape and bold color. Many of these collage works include pieces of painted studies, textured papers and patterned fabrics.

Carolyn works in a wide variety of media, from painting and printmaking to sculpture in wax and bronze.

She studied painting and sculpture at UC Santa Cruz and received a M.F.A. in Painting from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania.

Her work is shown throughout Southern California and is in many private collections. Her paintings appeared in the 1998 film Pleasantville.
